Brazilian footballer Fernando Menegazzo visited ASPETAR (Qatar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital) recently to undergo an X-ray consultation for an injury. Menegazzo, who plays for Al Shabab in the Saudi Arabia League, selected region’s leading sport medicine hospital for an MRI in order to gain the expert medical advice the organization is renowned for. Now set to return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Menegazzo will continue treatment at his residence. The defensive midfielder chose ASPETAR due to the excellent reputation that has been building up over the years, both regionally and internationally. The footballer was also encouraged by the recommendations from his teammates who have previously received treatment at the institution, including fellow player Abdu Ateef who received rehabilitation following an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February last year.
“I spoke with my doctor and he recommended that I come to ASPETAR for treatment. I underwent an MRI as I have a muscle injury that needs attention, if necessary I’ll be back for further treatment,” said Fernando Menegazzo.
He went on to add: “The quality of the sport medicine services available and the facilities here are fantastic. I did not realize, beforehand, that ASPETAR is such a well-equipped hospital, and not only boasts top quality equipment but an excellent staff too.” Fernando Menegazzo is a leading Brazilian football. Born in 1981 in Anita, Brazil, he started his professional football journey in 1998. He has played for seven different football clubs in four different countries, but has spent the past six seasons in France with Bordeaux. He has been capped eight times by Brazil and won the Ligue 1 title in 2009. Last year, Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab signed Menegazzo from Bordeaux on a three-year deal. ASPETAR is the first specialized orthopedic and sports medicine hospital in the region and was officially accredited in 2009 by F-MARC as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
