Aspetar has strengthened its partnership with Qatari football by providing medical support to Qatar Stars League players during the current season.
As the Official Medical Partner of the Qatar Stars League, Aspetar played a central role in safeguarding player health and ensuring match readiness. Its comprehensive medical framework included preventive screenings, pre-match assessments, and advanced diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation in line with the highest international standards in sports medicine.
Commenting on the hospital’s efforts, Mr. Khalid Ali Al‑Mawlawi, Acting Director General of Aspetar, said:
Supporting Qatari sport is a national responsibility we take great pride in at Aspetar. The specialised medical services we provide reflect our commitment to caring for athletes and preparing them according to global best practices. It has been an exceptional season at every level, and we commend the efforts behind the Qatar Stars League. We are proud to be partners in the ongoing success of Qatari football year after year.
Mr. Hani Ballan, CEO of the Qatar Stars League Foundation, praised the partnership, stating:
Our collaboration with Aspetar has created a safe and professional sporting environment. The hospital’s dedication to player care and medical excellence continues to advance Qatari football. This partnership remains a cornerstone of the league’s long-term success.”
Since the start of the season, Aspetar has delivered unified medical services to all participating clubs through its National Sports Medicine Programme. Integrated medical teams accompany clubs during training and matches, ensuring consistent and immediate care for players.
Operating within one of the most advanced integrated sports medicine models in world football, Aspetar supports players’ recovery and safe return to competition while contributing to performance improvement and football development across Qatar.
Unlike many leagues where clubs manage medical care independently, Aspetar’s centralised and standardised system guarantees equal access to medical services. Comprehensive care is delivered both on and off the pitch, with unified medical standards applied league wide.
Acting as the league’s central medical authority, Aspetar ensures consistency in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑play decisions. This framework reinforces medical safety and fairness in player readiness and competitive opportunities.
Each QSL club is supported by an embedded Aspetar medical team comprising sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists, and massage therapists. These teams continuously monitor players’ health, conduct regular assessments, and document all information in a unified electronic medical record system, enabling real‑time tracking and coordination across the league.
Beyond injury management, the system encompasses preventive programmes, personalised rehabilitation, recovery plans, and pre‑season and new‑signing assessments—ensuring full medical coverage throughout every stage of the season.
The partnership also reflects an advanced scientific collaboration that places research and innovation at the heart of medical practice. Joint efforts between Aspetar and the Qatar Stars League have facilitated long‑term injury surveillance, precise data collection on player health metrics, and studies with global relevance.
This collaboration has produced one of the largest injury databases in professional football and contributed to specialised research on injury patterns, fractures, and return‑to‑play outcomes—positioning the Qatar Stars League as a living laboratory for sports medicine advancement.
By reducing injury rates, shortening recovery periods, and improving player availability, the partnership enhances overall league performance and drives continuous knowledge exchange among clubs, coaches, and medical professionals.
Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, Aspetar remains committed to cementing Qatar’s position as a global centre of excellence in sports medicine. The season’s achievements highlight the hospital’s dedication to combining scientific innovation with elite expertise to ensure athlete safety and the sustainability of football performance in Qatar.
