Register now for Aspetar’s online course on Safeguarding in Sports Medicine and Science, designed for healthcare professionals working with young athletes in clinical and healthcare settings.

Safeguarding in sports medicine requires more than policy awareness. It demands an understanding of how safeguarding risks can emerge within medical and rehabilitation settings. This course provides evidence-based, practical guidance on identifying safeguarding concerns, understanding professional responsibilities, and responding effectively within clinical practice.

The course is delivered online and accredited for DHP Category 2, allowing participants to claim up to 10.0 CAT2 credits.

Places are limited, and registration is required.

Overall learning objectives:

 

On completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify key safeguarding risks and indicators of potential harm in young athletes.
  2. Explain the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals in maintaining safe clinical environments.
  3. Apply appropriate communication strategies to support athlete disclosure and comfort during clinical care.
  4. Demonstrate safe and professional clinical practices when conducting examinations or treatments with minors.
  5. Evaluate safeguarding concerns and implement appropriate reporting and response pathways.
