Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Qatar University’s College of Pharmacy

Dr. Zaid Almaayah is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Qatar University’s College of Pharmacy. He earned his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in pharmacology and toxicology, from the University of Alberta in Canada, where he also completed postdoctoral training at the Cardiovascular Research Centre. Dr. Zaid has an impressive research and teaching portfolio, with 58 peer-reviewed publications, a 30 h-index, a 43 i10-index, and over 2,400 citations. His academic excellence has been recognized with several prestigious Canadian awards, including the Killam Award, Alberta Innovates Health Solutions (AIHS), and Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Notably, he received the Governor General’s Gold Medal for the best PhD thesis at the University of Alberta. His research primarily focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind adverse drug reactions. Dr. Zaid also contributes to the scientific community as an academic editor and peer reviewer for various scholarly journals.
