Salam Abou Rafeh is the Nurse Manager of the Inpatient Department at Aspetar, Qatar orthopedic and sports medicine hospital. Since joining Aspetar in 2009 as a Senior Nurse, Salam has played an instrumental role in shaping the delivery of high-quality, athlete-centered care.

A graduate of the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Salam also holds a master’s degree in healthcare quality and patient safety from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is currently pursuing a professional doctorate in Healthcare Management, reflecting his commitment to advancing leadership and system-level improvement in healthcare.

Throughout his career, Salam has championed the right of every patient to receive optimal, safe, and experience-enhancing care. This belief has been central to his efforts at Aspetar, where he has actively driven improvements that elevate the hands-on experience of athletes and inpatients alike.

He firmly believes that building highly effective, empowered, and collaborative teams is essential to achieving excellence in care delivery. His leadership approach emphasizes teamwork as a foundation for safety, innovation, and sustainable quality improvement.
