Professor Mathew Wilson is Chief Operating Officer of the Princess Grace Hospital and Head of Sport and Exercise Medicine for the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH). He is an Honorary Professor in the Department of Targeted Intervention within the Division of Surgery & Interventional Sciences at UCL. Previously, Professor Wilson held the role of Executive Director of Research and Scientific Support at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Qatar, where he contributed as a member of the IOC Scientific and Medical Expert Committee. As Co-Director of the Aspetar IOC Injury and Illness Prevention Research Centre, he oversaw the publication of over 1,000 PubMed-indexed papers, garnering more than 13,500 citations.

Currently, he is a Senior Associate Editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine and a globally recognised expert in sports cardiology with a portfolio of over 130+ peer-reviewed publications and research funding surpassing £6m. His expertise focuses on protecting and enhancing athlete health, reducing injury and illness, and maximising performance outcomes. Passionate about high-performance sports, he is dedicated to helping elite athletes leverage all resources in their pursuit of excellence.
