Registered Nurse - Aspetar

Ana Maria Filip is a dedicated Registered Nurse with over 24 years of experience, including the past 12 years in Qatar as part of the National Sports Medicine Program under Aspetar Hospital, supporting sports clubs and federations across the country. Originally from Romania, she spent her first 12 years working as an anesthetic and ICU nurse in a leading orthopedic hospital, where she built a strong foundation in critical care and teamwork.

Since joining Aspetar, Ana Maria has provided medical coverage at numerous international sporting events, including the 2015 World Boxing Championship, 2015 Men’s Handball World Championship,2015  Paralympic Athletics World Championship, 2019 World Athletics Championship, and the 2024 World Aquatics and as well in 2024 Gymnastics Championships. Her experience on the field has deepened her passion for sports medicine and strengthened her commitment to athlete care.

Ana Maria was also a featured speaker at the Aspetar Clubs & Federations - Emergencies on Field Conference in October 2018, where she presented “On-field wound  management”.

 In her upcoming presentation, she will highlight the vital role of sports medicine nursing in sport events, aiming to inspire others by sharing the unique sense of accomplishment and purpose that comes with supporting athletes in the field.
