Dr Francisco S. L. Moreira is a Consultant Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. With over 25 years of experience in elite sport, he has held senior medical roles across football and rugby in Europe and the Middle East, working with professional teams and national programmes at the highest level.

His expertise spans sports injury management, rehabilitation, return-to-performance strategies, injury prevention, and concussion care. A former international rugby player for Portugal, he combines medical and athletic perspectives to optimise athlete health, performance, and long-term well-being.

During the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, he contributed to the Concussion Assessment & Rehabilitation Service and the Injury & Illness Surveillance Study, advancing player safety and international sports medicine research.
