Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Specialist – Visiting Surgeon

Dr. Marius Scarlat is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Specialist from the Orthopaedic and Sports Surgery Department of Clinique Saint Michel in Toulon, France.  His formation and training in Specialty were in the Universities of Nancy and Strasbourg (France) and in the University of Washington in Seattle (USA).

Dr Scarlat is performing open and arthroscopic reconstruction of Shoulder and Elbow including Trauma and Arthroplasty complex procedures and is author of many scientific papers in the orthopaedic literature. He lectured and performed live surgery and teaching laboratory arthroscopic skills, authored more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed publications and did many conferences and lectures in high-ranked scientific societies like the AAOS, COA, EFORT, SECEC, SICOT, SOFCOT, IOACON.

Currently Dr Scarlat is a Member of the Board of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and participated in several teaching sessions in shoulder and elbow arthroplasty, reconstruction and also in the development of the relations between European and International Scientists, encouraging publications, communication, fellowships and training of surgeons within the SICOT, AO-Trauma foundation, the Pan-Arab Orthopaedic Association, the Chinese Orthopaedic Association, the Russian Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and the French Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, SOFCOT. With a special interest in the surgery and reconstruction of shoulder and elbow in diabetic patients as well as in patients with challenging co-morbidities and neurologic conditions, Dr Scarlat has a good experience and use of procedures performed open and arthroscopically.
