9 ASPETAR MAGAZINE ASPETAR IN NEWS Aspetar Named Official Medical Partner of the Asian Football Confederation Aspetar has been appointed as the Official Medical Partner of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), reinforcing its long-standing role in supporting football across the continent and strengthening its global position in sports medicine. Announced in April 2026, the partnership will see Aspetar deliver medical support across major AFC club competitions and selected national team tournaments through to June 2029. The agreement builds on a strong history of collaboration, including Aspetar’s contribution to the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, where it provided comprehensive medical services to one of Asia’s flagship tournaments. Through this partnership, Aspetar will work alongside the AFC to enhance medical standards across competitions, drawing on its expertise in athlete health, injury prevention, and performance optimisation. Reflecting on the significance of the partnership, Mr. Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, Aspetar Acting Director General, noted: “This partnership represents an important step in advancing medical care across Asian football. By integrating clinical expertise with research and education, we aim to support safer environments and higher performance standards for athletes.” As the game continues to evolve, the collaboration positions Aspetar as a trusted long-term partner; contributing to the development of medical excel lence across international football.
