Dr. Katarina Pasalic completed her undergraduate studies - MD degree in 1990. She finished her residence in Internal Medicine and achieved specialist in internal medicine degree in 1998, also specialization in rheumatology in 2000, all from University of Belgrade, School of Medicine. PhD degree achieved in 2016, from University of Nis, School of Medicine. She defended PhD thesis “Efficacy and safety of alphacalcidol treatment in active rheumatoid arthritis”. She has been working in Clinical Center “Zvezdara” from 1992-1998, at Railway Health Care Institute 1998-2006 and in the Institute of Rheumatology since 2006, onwards.

Katarina Simic-Pasalic is Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Belgrade, School of Medicine and the Head of Osteodensitometry department at the Institute of Rheumatology, Belgrade, Serbia.

For many years she has been active in organization of international scientific meeting and educational courses, and has been invited speaker at number of national, regional and European meetings. She participated as subinvestigator in 21 multicentric double blind interventional clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis, 5 in systemic lupus erythematodes and 2 observational trials in systemic sclerosis.

Her research topics include osteoporosis, systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and sonography in rheumatology. Assist Prof. Simic-Pasalic published more than 40 papers in reputed, peer review journals
