Commenting on providing medical support to the Samla 2019, Dr. Fawzi Bendimerad, the Medical Director of the race said:

Our work requires providing medical support to the participants throughout the race around the clock. It involves intervention in the event of any injury or health problem and help them finish the race in good health. Furthermore, we advise the participants on how to maintain a good condition of their physical fitness, as well as providing them with tips to avoid heat stroke, dehydration, sleeping and nutritional problems.

Last year, Aspetar provided medical support to more than 200 participants and supported Qatari participants when they competed in a similar race in Oman. Through taking part at these types of events, Aspetar proves its vital role in supporting athletes when competing domestically and regionally. This is central to its mission to assist athletes to achieve their maximum performance and full potential.
