77 ASPETAR MAGAZINE ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT Who is your favourite boxer, both in the past and present? Like all boxers, I consider Muhammad Ali Clay a role model, not just inside the ring but outside it as well. He is a unique and inspiring personality. As for the present, I admire the Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, who has achieved three consecutive victories without defeat. Women's boxing, especially for Arab and Muslim women, faces more mental challenges than physical ones. How did you overcome that? Yes, that's true. Some people think that this sport is not suitable for women because it requires physical and muscular strength. But the reality is that boxing relies primarily on mental intelligence. The presence of intelligence in this sport affects all its aspects, from physical training to mental and scientific preparation. I believe the mental impact was the biggest challenge for me as an Arab Muslimwoman practicing boxing, and I overcame it with self-belief and conviction. Belief is the fundamental step to success, followed by hard work, discipline, and perseverance. Nothing is impossible, and a person who believes in themselves can create miracles in any field.
