Aspetar Magazine

50 ASPETAR MAGAZINE COVER STORY What lessons from sport do you carry into media and entrepreneurship? The biggest lesson is sacrifice. Success requires giving up comfort, leisure, and sometimes even time with friends and family. Sport teaches you patience, discipline, and consistency. At 18, I spent a year training in France. It was a difficult experience, living with a host family, adjusting to a new culture, and training in freezing temperatures. That year taught me professionalism, resilience, and how to manage challenges alone. That’s why I always advise young athletes: success is not only about results: it’s about balance between sport, education, and life. Today’s athletes face growing pressures. What are your thoughts on this modern reality? The sporting world has changed. Today’s athletes face constant pressure: from social media, match congestion, and unhealthy habits. Years ago, we played around 30 to 40 matches a season. Now, elite players can reach 60 to 70 matches across competitions. Despite advances in recovery and treatment, the body needs rest. That’s why the role of institutions like Aspetar is more important than ever, to help athletes manage physical strain and mental stress in a high- performance environment. You’re also involved in future-focused projects. Can you tell us more? On the sporting side, I’m growing the Padel IN project, which already operates in Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, with plans to expand to Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, and more. Our aim is to become one of the world’s leading padel operators and nurture a generation capable of competing globally within five years. I’ve also started sharing my media and entrepreneurship experience with students at Qatar University. It’s part of my responsibility to pass on what I’ve learnt and help the next generation find their path. Any final word or advice you’d like to share? Don’t wait for perfection. If you have a dream, start, even if you’re not 100% ready. Sport teaches you patience, discipline, and consistency. Closing Note From the courts of Doha to the studios of beIN Sports, Mohammad Saadon Alkuwari’s journey is a testament to ambition, resilience, and national pride. His words remind us that behind every triumph lies hard work, sacrifice, and the support of those who stand beside the athlete. Scan the QR code to watch more
