14 ASPETAR MAGAZINE MEDICAL EVENTS Aspetar World Conference 2025: A Global Gathering for Sports Medicine In October 2025, Doha became the epicentre of global sports medicine as Aspetar successfully hosted its flagship event, the Aspetar World Conference 2025, at the world-class Aspire Dome. Over the course of three days, the conference brought together more than 1,000 specialists, researchers, and clinicians from 74 countries, making it a landmark event drawing global participation. “This conference is more than an event; it is a reflection of Aspetar’s unwavering commitment to shaping the future of sports medicine globally,” said Dr. Khalid Alkhelaifi, Conference Chair and Aspetar Events CMO. “The diversity of voices and the depth of expertise gathered here show that Aspetar has become a trusted hub for the international sports medicine community.” The scientific program covered a wide spectrum of breakthrough topics — from AI-powered diagnostics and regenerative medicine to injury prevention, performance nutrition, and mental health in sport. Experts from leading organisations, including FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, and major global universities, led dynamic keynote sessions and panel discussions. Beyond the formal agenda, the conference became a springboard for new partnerships. Representatives from international federations, national sports bodies, and clinical networks collaborated on future research initiatives, fellowship programs, and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Notable institutional partners included FIFA, the IOCMedical and Scientific Commission, World Athletics, World Rugby, FIBA, the University of Pretoria, and UC San Diego. The 2025 edition also served as a platform for strategic announcements. Aspetar revealed plans to host the International Rehabilitation Conference 2026, dedicated to advancing recovery science, and the second edition of the Aspetar World Conference in 2027, which will coincide with the hospital’s 20th anniversary. “Every discussion, every collaboration, and every insight shared at this conference contributes to elevating standards of athlete care globally,” added Dr. Abdulaziz JahamAl Kuwari, CEO of Aspetar. “We are proud that Doha continues to bring the world’s best minds together to shape the future of our field.” The successful execution of the Aspetar World Conference 2025 reaffirmed Aspetar’s leadership on the world stage, not just as a hospital, but as a global knowledge and innovation hub.
