11 ASPETAR MAGAZINE MEDICAL EVENTS Advancing Table Tennis Science: The 17th ITTF Sports Science Congress at Aspetar Aspetar proudly hosted the 17th ITTF Sports Science Congress on 15-16th May, 2025, in collaboration with the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) and the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Marking the congress's return after six years, this landmark event welcomed over 140 delegates globally, both in person and online, from 31 member associations. The congress focused on the increasing role of science in table tennis, bringing together physicians, sports scientists, coaches, and managers. The program featured plenary sessions and presentations on injury prevention, shoulder rehabilitation, and travel sports medicine, with a strong emphasis on applying the latest research to enhance athlete health and performance. Strategically timed before the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025, the congress allowed attendees to connect scientific advancements with top-tier competition. Aspetar's dual role as host and official medical provider underscored our commitment to both treating athletes and driving sports science innovation.
