151 ASPETAR MAGAZINE ASPETAR FACILITIES Located within Aspetar’s Rehabilitation Department, the Riadh Assessment and Movement Analysis Laboratory (RAMAL) represents a new era in sports medicine, where advanced biomechanics and clinical expertise combine to support safer and more effective athlete recovery. Designed as an integrated assessment and rehabilitation environment, RAMAL strengthens Aspetar’s mission of delivering evidence- based care guided by objective performance data. Named in honour of Mr. Riadh Miladi, a pioneer of sports medicine in Qatar, the laboratory reflects decades of progress toward data-driven rehabilitation and performance optimisation. His early vision for scientific athlete care now comes to life through this state-of-the-art facility. At the core of RAMAL’s philosophy is assessment-guided rehabilitation. Rather than relying solely on standard recovery timelines, athletes progress through rehabilitation based on measurable functional milestones. Det a i l ed b i omechan i ca l assessments allow clinicians to identify the root causes of injury, correct residual deficits, and support confident return to sport while minimising re-injury risk. The laboratory integrates advanced technologies capable of capturing human movement with exceptional precision. High-speed RAMAL: Advancing Athlete Recovery Through Movement Science motion-capture systems and slow- motion cameras analyse joint mechanics and movement patterns, while force plates and instrumented treadmills evaluate running, jumping, and landing me c h a n i c s . I s o k i n e t i c dynamometry further enables accurate measurement of muscle strength and asymmetries, providing clinicians with actionable insights throughout rehabilitation.
