Dr. Anissa Cherif

Research Biochemist

Dr. Anissa Cherif (PhD) is Biochemist within the Research department, Aspetar. She has a strong background in research, with a PhD’s Degree in movement and sport sciences from the Free University of Brussels (VUB), a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Quebec in Canada (UQAM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from UQAM.  She acquired experience in research and development with different renowned pharmaceutical companies.  Anissa’s previous position was with Genopole, Paris, France where she worked as project manager to facilitate the design and development of different research projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Application of molecular biological techniques (PCR, sequencing, transcription, transformation, cloning, purification of proteins)
  • Creation of cellular cultures and viral infections
  • Preparation of SDS-PAGE, immunoblot, Northwesternblot, dosage and analysis of proteins, GC and HPLC
  • Production of monoclonal antibodies and ELISA
  • Application of microbiological techniques (coloration Gram, antibiogram, API)
  • Dissolutest, and Zetameter
  • Development and study of the dissolution of a tablet containing an active ingredient
  • DMF Study: Impurities and degrading substances
  • Study of impurities in Active Ingredients and Final Product
  • Study of the stability of specific formulas
