Senior delegation from the Sports Authority of Thailand visits Aspetar

The delegation included Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Member of International Olympic Committee (IOC), and Member of the Executive Board of National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT), as well as Somsak Leeswadtrakul, President’s Advisor of (NOCT), Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of STA, Montri Chaipun, Advisor to Governor of SAT and Chairman of Sub-Committee of Sports Science Renovation, National Sports Training Centre.

Following the tour, Members of the delegation praised Aspetar’s services, Qatar’s sports medicine hospital that established itself as a reference in sports medicine worldwide, and they expressed their interest for mutual cooperation and support Thai efforts to establish a sports medicine hospital based on Aspetar’s model.

The head of delegation Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, said:

Aspetar has some of state-of-the art facilities and offers world-class services, we are looking forward to benefiting from Qatar’s experience in this field.

Commenting on the visit, Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of STA, said:

In my opinion, Aspetar is one of the best [sports medicine] hospitals in the world. I have been to Japan, South Korea and Germany, I believe this is one of the most comprehensive hospitals in the world.

If we have one similar to Aspetar in Thailand that would be wonderful, we are looking forward to cooperating with Qatar to build an Aspetar-like hospital in Thailand”, he concluded.
