Commenting on the medical check-ups at Aspetar, Dr. Badr Aql, Head of the Medical Department for the Palestinian National Team, said:

“We are pleased to have reviewed the physical condition of our players prior to competing in the 2019 Asian Cup. Thanks to Aspetar we have completed a number of comprehensive tests for the athletes. They have also undergone other assessments including blood tests, heart-rate stress tests and a number of fitness examinations. As a result, we can be sure that the players are physically ready to play in the Asian Football Confederation.

“It’s fantastic to be able to take advantage of the world-class facilities on offer at Aspetar and the team there have spared no effort in ensuring that our players are in good condition. We’re also fortunate that Aspetar will provide medical support and care for the team during three friendly matches in Qatar.” Dr. Badr Aql added.

Commenting on his visit to Aspetar, Mustafa Kabir, who plays in defence for his country as well as Argentine Club side Sarmiento de Lions, said:

“It is a superlative hospital that brings together elite athletes from around the world and gives them all they need to maintain peak performance and their physical condition.  I’m proud to be playing in the best team in the history of Palestine. We have the highest ranking in our history in the FIFA rankings, and we will be sure to give our best in the forthcoming tournament," Mustafa Kabir concluded.

During the Asian Cup 2019, Palestine will face 2015 winners Australia and are set to compete against neighbouring countries Jordan and Syria.
