This is the highest level of accreditation award possible under the program and awarded to highly committed and quality-oriented organizations that monitor outcomes, use evidence and best practice to improve services. The accreditation program is administrated by Accreditation Canada. 

After a rigorous process including an assessment survey visit in November 2018, Aspetar is now the first hospital in the State of Qatar to be awarded this coveted Diamond Level Status. The comprehensive assessment evaluates a range of criteria related to quality, safety, risk management and ethics across medical services and support services including financial, IT, human resources, infrastructure and administration. Overall, Aspetar complied with 99.5% of applicable standards during the accreditation survey visit.

Commenting on the accreditation, Aspetar Director General, Mohammed Al Suwaidi, said:

“This accreditation cements the hospital’s exceptional commitment to quality, safety and the delivery of world-class medical care and services in accordance with international standards. It further reinforces Aspetar’s commitment to providing the highest quality clinical outcomes for patients. It also brings Aspetar a step closer towards our vision of being a “global leader in sports medicine and exercise science by 2020.”

He continued:

The latest achievement follows earlier excellence awards in 2017 when Aspetar was officially recognized by World Health Organization’s Patient Safety Friendly Hospital (PSFH) level 3 award and in 2015 received Platinum Level accreditation status from the Accreditation Canada International (ACI).
