Aspetar’s ongoing collaboration with the Qatar Athletics Federation in providing medical coverage to the Doha Diamond League is another example of Aspetar’s commitment to helping athletes achieve their full potential during sports events hosted in Qatar.

For this year’s Doha Diamond League, Aspetar set up on-site facilities at the Qatar Sports Club offering services to all participating athletes. A team of 37 physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and massage therapists provided immediate medical care throughout the event and at the participants’ residences.

Events like the Diamond League provide Aspetar experts with invaluable opportunities to hone their procedures in preparation for the 2019 World Championships in Athletics, scheduled to take place from 28 September - 6 October 2019 at Khalifa International Stadium, and the 48th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled to take place from 25 October to 3 November 2018. At both of these events, Aspetar will be the official medical provider.

By supporting such events, Aspetar is cementing its leading role in the treatment and prevention of injury to local, regional and international athletes across all sports. Aspetar’s experts have a wealth of experience in supporting athletes participating in major tournaments in Qatar, including the 24^th Men’s Handball World Championship in 2015, the 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships, and the 2016 UCI Road World Championships, and abroad.
