Volume 2 - Targeted Topic - Sports Medicine in Football

April 2013
Sports Medicine in Football is the first of the Aspetar Sports Medicine Journal Targeted Topics. An entire issue dedicated to the science, medicine, surgery and rehabilitation needed to sustain the players of the world’s most popular sport. Following several high-profile cases of cardiac arrest on the football pitch, including that of Fabrice Muamba, this issue contains articles on sudden cardiac death in football and screening football players. Other topics include football in the heat, hydration and ACL surgery. In addition, we ask Swedish football phenomenon Zlatan Ibrahimovic his thoughts on sports medicine in football.
