Radiology

The Radiology Department at Aspetar is an exclusive radiology facility.

We perform a wide variety of specialised diagnostic exams and sports medicine imaging with state-of-the-art equipment to more effectively diagnose a broad spectrum of athletic injuries and to provide the best in patient care.

Our goal is to maintain excellence in the delivery of patient imaging and therapeutic services, engage in pioneering research and to be recognised as a pre-eminent centre for the training and performance of imaging research in the State of Qatar.

We provide our physicians with imaging services. From simple x-rays to the latest imaging systems, our radiologists and technologists offer a broad range of imaging options to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of sport injuries and trauma.

MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray are all forms of digital imaging that are available in the Radiology Department at Aspetar. The images acquired are stored on a digital image archive and are instantly available for viewing by medical staff anywhere in the hospital, at any time.

Functions:
Radiology department provides the following services to support the inpatient and outpatient activities of the hospital for both specialized orthopedic care and general care of the hospital’s patients.

Modalities
  • Plain X-ray
    Full range of radiographic examinations of the spine and peripheries including special views and full length measurement studies for legs and spinal alignment and general radiography including chest, abdomen and facial bones
  • Ultrasound
    Full range of musculoskeletal ultrasound including examinations of wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and foot. General ultrasound examinations including abdomen and lower and upper limb vascular studies
  • Computed Tomography
    Full range of peripheral, spinal and facial examinations, full range of general CT including head, chest, abdominal and pelvic examination, CT arthrography of all joints and specialised dental imaging
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
    Full range of musculoskeletal MRI including spinal examinations. MR arthrography of all joints and specialised cardiac studies.
  • Fluoroscopy
    Full range of fluoroscopically guided procedures joint injection including arthrography and therapeutic injections and radiologic guidance provided for operating theatre
